Introduction

Many of you who read these pages will assume that everything written is from all of my own lifetime’s experiences. Well, maybe 50% of this book is. I have a vivid imagination and listen to other people’s stories. Imagining myself in their place and their experiences, I am able to come up with poems in character as other people. I love to do this. It takes me out of my own emotions and lets me feel someone else’s. I also make up fictional characters and write as if I were them. Poetry is so personal and so hard to understand for the most part. So I am hoping if you are reading my book that is clear for you and not too way out there.

Poetry has always been the best way for me to express myself, and has helped me through some rough times.

I have a rule not to defend myself against negative opinions. Art is objective. If 1000 people read the same thing, that’s how many opinions you will have. So in light of that, I hope you appreciate my heart and soul on paper. If you don’t, it’s okay. It’s not my passion to play into it, it is my passion to write it for myself, and now for all of you to see.
